Will Google Maps Philippines Be Coming Soon?

Google Maps now shows detailed street maps for the whole European continent. Well, that didn't take too long. I wonder if the Google Map Team is courageous enough to input the utterly chaotic streets of Manila (and of other Asian metropolises and cities) into the system. They probably plan to work on the more popular Asian cities like those in China and India. Hopefully they won't feel that the Philippines is too insignificant, hehe.

Oh, and I just saw a very useful new Maps feature. If you want to quickly go to someplace that's far from your current location, you could drag the square in the lower right part of the page, which shows a miniaturized map. It's a lot faster than dragging the main map, especially if you've got dial-up (as I do, *sniff*).

Update: The Official Google Blog explains what they added to the European maps.
